The Bollinger La Grande Année is a prestigious vintage Champagne, crafted solely in exceptional years. The 2014 vintage, true to Bollinger’s time-honored methods, predominantly features Pinot Noir, lending strength and structure characteristic of this varietal. Complementing this is Chardonnay, bringing an added layer of finesse and vibrancy. Distinctively aged in small oak barrels, the wine gains remarkable structure and depth. Further complexity and longevity are achieved through extended lees aging in Bollinger’s cellars. The vintage’s weather conditions, marked by a rainy autumn and winter followed by two dry, sunny months and a notably cold August, presented challenges.
