Nestled in the heart of Ayrshire, Lochlea Farm was once the home of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. The distillery began its journey in 2018, transforming from a traditional Scottish farm into a haven of whisky excellence. This exceptional Cask Strength release from Lochlea Distillery showcases a stunning dark colour that hints at the depth and richness within each bottle.
The majority of the liquid is five years old, utilising a cask make-up never before seen in a Lochlea release. This is made up of primarily Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry butts, along with a touch of STR wine barriques. The result is a proper Lowland Sherry Bomb that explodes with complexity and depth.
Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 2 is a celebration of heritage and innovation; a release of 12,000 bottles, this edition is presented at 60% abv, all natural colour with no chill-filtration.
