Penderyn Distillery, nestled within the idyllic Brecon Beacons, stands as a beacon of Welsh whisky innovation and tradition. Established at the dawn of the new millennium, Penderyn began distilling in 2000 and quickly garnered acclaim for its distinctive approach to whisky making. It proudly holds the title of being the first whisky commercially produced in Wales in over a century, reviving a heritage that had lain dormant since the early 1900s.
This pioneering approach is showcased with their Small Batch Series, exclusively labelled for House of Malt.
This special release, limited to only 636 bottles, is a masterful vatting of four casks, combining the rich essence of Tawny Port with the innovative STR (Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred) cask. This process allows the sugars hiding in the wood to recarmelise and produce lush fruity notes. This release is presented un-chillfiltered, all-natural colour at a bold 50% ABV.
