Each release from The Last Drop series carries a unique story, and the release is no exception. Distilled in 1971 and initially blended in 1983, it was transferred to 11 Sherry butts for further ageing. Nine years later, a portion was decanted and bottled, with the remaining liquid transferred to 9 American oak barrels for an additional 24 years of maturation. The outcome of this extensive ageing process is The Last Drop 1971, a limited edition with only 1,352 bottles available. Each bottle is accompanied by a 5cl miniature, allowing enthusiasts to sample this extraordinary whisky while preserving the integrity of their full-sized bottle for future celebrations.
