Wormtub 10 Year OldBatch 5

This whisky hails from a Speyside distillery that continues to employ a traditional piece of equipment: a worm tub condenser. These are made of long coiled copper tubes submerged in cold water within a large vat, a design seldom seen in modern distilleries which have largely shifted to more efficient shell and tube condensers. Though more modern methods are efficient, they often sacrifice the unique, rich, and robust flavour profiles that worm tubs can impart cherished flavours. Like its predecessors, Batch 5 has matured for a decade, including a final maturation stage in first-fill sherry casks. The result is the strikingly rich-coloured single malt presented here, bottled at a robust 56.1% ABV without chill filtration or added colour.
